Te Araroa gone off track?
The Te Araroa (NZ long tramping trail) website is gone.
It was useful as it had the maps and route descriptions and occasional news updates from Geoff Chapple about how the project was going. However the plug has been pulled, though I suppose it could be just an admin oversight.
Geoff must still be in the business as The Herald published an article by him just a few weeks ago: Little known NZ mountain trail offers big views.
If anyone knows what the situation is please drop me a line by clicking this email address, or just post the info directly by commenting below.

It's still there, he posted an update on the 20th...
but maybe this is a different site (www.teararoa.org.nz)
they don't really have much route info,
presumably because they don't want to be liable for anybody using the unfinished route.

Thanks Russell
I still can't get the Te Araroa site to load using url:
//www.teararoa.org.nz
However I tried accessing its url through a proxy server:
//3proxy.org/index.pl
and this got me through.
I'm not sure what it is about the Te Araroa website that's doing this but the proxy server should get anyone else through if they're having the same problem.
