Had too much on to get away for the whole weekend, but fitted in the couple of hours it takes to walk up to Packhorse hut and back.
And it was great. The manuka was in flower, bell birds were singing in Parkinsons Bush and the Port Hills were illuminated with the slanting rays of the setting sun. And walking back down I got that usual feeling of sublime peace you get at the end of a walk.
