Update
The crazy end of year rush plus the move has kept me away from updating Tramping Report.
Honora did get her wallet back ($100 cash, etc included). Some honest trampers handed it in to the police. The police dropped it in to Honora's work.
On the 10th we got away on our one short tramp to try to gain a little pre-Xmas tramping fitness. Look back for the full report of Mottram Peaks, in the Waimak valley. I'll get that up with pics early in the new year.
Right now we're just off to Arthurs Pass for a few days at Big Tops Hut in the Koropuku valley. There'll be news of that on the 4th.
I hope the nor'westers don't spoil your plans.

Good to see you're out and about during the holidays. I manaed to visit and photograph 52 new huts in '05. Keep seeing yor name in hut books. Have recently done Devils Creek and the Goulter,Rintoul Old Man circuit.

Gareth. 52 new huts notched up in a year is pretty impressive. I'm almost too embarrassed to mention my measly 9 new ones visited. The last one, Island Gully Hut, I only squeezed in at quarter to midnight 31st December. Good to see you're cleaning up Mt Richmond Forest Park. There are lots there worth a visit, even aside from the stats.

Hi frank,
Thanks for a fun weekend. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but you're no longer top in either "tramping reports" or tramping reports with google, although in the second you're at least in the top 10! You need some more links.
Anyway, thought I'd forward this url from trailjournals.com, which sums it all up.
http://www.trailjournals.com/entry.cfm?id=2371 (or else use the search link, look for "yogi" in journalists, and look up preparation #2 for PCT 2001.) Enjoy. JH

Thanks John. That trail journal is a great site.
Yes it's funny how google works. I've noticed most people are finding their way in by googling a particular tramping location, or from a specific page link that's been emailed around. They then bookmark that page and always come back in via that one. It does help to have a lot of links though.
